    Our Process

    Step 1

    We begin with an initial in-person meeting with our business development team, where we learn about your business, your priorities, the scope of the existing contract and — if this has been failing — what has been going wrong. During this meeting, we’ll take time to walk around your premises and understand the specific requirements of your building.

    Step 2

    We put together a proposal, including staff, hours, methods, products, frequency of tasks, and innovative changes we recommend to improve efficiency or reduce costs.

    Step 3

    This second meeting, which will usually include your contract manager, will look at the proposal in detail and review it in relation to your premises.

    Step 4

    We then work with you to develop a timetable for the transition of contracts, with a countdown plan to the day it goes live. Our health and safety manager will visit your premises to assess any risks, and put procedures in place (such as signs or alternative storage) to ensure the safety of your staff as well as our own.

    Step 5

    Throughout the first 10 days, we’ll ensure your contract is fit for purpose and make amendments accordingly. Our manager will work closely with you at this early stage, introducing the team to new working practices and ensuring the transition runs smoothly. To begin with, we will review your contract every few weeks. This is to ensure we are meeting your needs and to make adjustments if required.

    Frequently asked questions

    We have a completely flexible approach and will attend your premises at the time that suits your use of the site. This can be early mornings, before any of your staff arrive, during the day, or in the evening after everyone has left for the day.

    We have comprehensive insurance cover which, amongst other things, covers Public Liability for £10,000,000 and employer’s liability for £10,000,000. We also have cover for loss of keys.

    Our service is tailored entirely to your requirements. We have a very broad mix of clients and for some, we will only attend once or twice per week. For other larger clients, we will have many cleaners on site at least five days per week. We build our service around what you need.

    Each contract is priced differently. We will arrange a time and date which suits you where one of our directors will come and take a quick look around which shouldn’t take long, and from this they develop a price. This is then turned into a cleaning proposal which is sent to you by post and email. The cleaning proposal includes important information about us and will include a full breakdown of the price.

    Yes. All managers and supervisors receive comprehensive training to enable them to manage the sites under their supervision in line with Total Clean’s guidelines and required standards. Each of our cleaning operatives receives comprehensive in-house and in-situ training in all areas required for them to skilfully perform their duties. All Health and Safety issues and key company policies are covered in their initial training and induction.

    Yes. As part of our rigorous recruitment process, following interview, we obtain a previous employer’s reference and required proof of address and entitlement to work in the UK. We also require a copy of their passport and driving licence for our records. Where required, staff will also be DBS checked, to ensure additional security for our clients.

    All of our products have been formulated to meet the highest standards in cleaning and health and safety. We regularly audit our suppliers to demonstrate their environmental credentials.
